This Is The World’s Fastest RV.

What Is The Fastest RV In The World?
Motorhomes aren’t exactly built to go fast. In fact, anything of that size is not what you’d associate with speed. Nevertheless, it seems that the Fiat Doblo, built by Simon Robins, seems to change everything. Everything that we have ever known about motorhomes has changed drastically, which as we see it, is brilliant.

This Fiat Doblo camper van has defied the odds. It has secured a Guinness World Record for being the world’s Fastest motorhome (RV). It achieved huge speeds of 227.35 km/h (141.3 mph). The record was set by Simon Robins (UK) at Elvington Airfield in East Yorkshire, UK, on 21 October 2014.

Even in windy and damp conditions, the Fiat Doblo easily smashed through the record. Doing so earned it the title of “record holder.” A build that took months finally came to fruition in October 2014.

The motorhome contains a double bed, sink, stove, and a rather efficient toilet. Simon has managed to upgrade the engine of the 2007 Fiat Doblo to a more powerful fiat 12v turbo engine. This is coupled with more efficient air filters and a stronger set of brakes. The brakes in question are top of the range, the kind that are found on the Range Rover SVR. So yes. This little fiat means business!

The build looks professionally done and the inside looks quite homely. Considering how little space is available, this Fiat Doblo seems to be the ideal road trip vehicle. This is simply because of how ingenious and compact it is. Tuned to produce 337hp, this RV sure does pack a punch, and is one of our favorite motorhomes to date.

This Fiat Doblo seems to be on a mission of speed, a mission aiming to change our views on camper vans forever. The heavy, slow and boat-like attributes that we give to motorhomes looks to be a distant memory, all because of some subtle yet huge upgrades. As you can see in the video, the Doblo achieved some eye-watering speeds on a dull and dismal day. Out on an abandoned runway in the middle of the British countryside, the Doblo achieved a huge milestone.

Have Any Other Motorhomes Attempted To Smash Speed Records?
Well, the short answer is yes, but they have failed. This pesky little Fiat is the the first of its kind to successfully smash the speed record for its class. This is hopefully the first of many! As we have noticed over the past few months, People carriers have now shifted their slow, sluggish past in replace for manic power and huge turbos. Prime examples are the 700hp monster 2021 Dodge Durango SRT and the powerful all-rounder Mercedes GLS63 AMG.

Sporting huge V8 engines and massive power gains, could we see the same for RVs? Only time will tell, but one thing for sure is that this Fiat Doblo definetly turns heads at car shows. With an estimated build cost of around $14,000, the build is quite modest. This is considering the power this beast has gained. Almost all of the stock internals have been replaced, a must considering how much this beast weighs.

If you’ve got camping on a Saturday and track racing on a Sunday, this beast of a Doblo has you covered! If you have track racing but have no where to sleep, again this little fiat has you covered!
