This Super Rare Porsche 320 Clubsport Series II Is Pretty Special.

This time, we get a hands-on look at a Porsche 911 restomod. Far from an ordinary build, this 911 Carrera received the Paul Stephens AutoArt treatment. Developed in 2002 by motorsport enthusiast Paul Stephens (PS), Paul began building bespoke cars based on the 911 — blending its classic styling with modern amenities. With only a few cars built each year, Paul and his team’s attention to detail remains unparalleled.

A German Built, British Refined Restomod 911

Beginning life as a 1989 911 3.2 Carrera, Paul helped reshape the entire engineering and styling of the car, with many subtle changes across the board — like its elongated hood, for instance, which houses its yellow LED headlights. While retaining the vague shape of a 911, the gentle revisions lead to a hyper-refined version of the 911’s efficient styling.

In a nod to modern-day Porsches, PS decided to drape the 911 in its paint-to-sample program color simply known as “crayon,” offset by the bold rose gold-trimmed outlaw style wheels.

A Practical, Reliable Restomod

However, it’s on the performance side where the PS 911 really begins to shine. After boring the 3.2-liter engine to a 3.6-liter, the Clubsport now creates around 320 horsepower while sprinting from 0-60 mph in about 4.5 seconds. The driver has the pleasure of rowing through the rebuilt G50 five-speed transmission that enhances the classic 911 shifting experience. PS also made sure to outfit the car with the brake-system from a 986 Boxster, in order to safely slow the car down from its top speed of 175 mph.

While most Porsche builders focus on performance over comfort, Paul Stephens understands this car’s need to remain practical in order to be a capable daily driver. From it’s leather-trimmed dash, to the gorgeous tartan bucket seats, the Clubsport is as enjoyable at 20 mph, as it is ripping through the English countryside. Something that will never cease to leave a massive smile on your face.
