This is why the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB is always loved.

This meant that the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB had big shoes to fill. It is no surprise that the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB did this with grace and perfection. In doing so, the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB earned the title of Super Car of the year in 2015; the title was awarded to it by Top Gear.

Two years after its debut, the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB received an accolade from Motor Trend for Best Driver’s Car.

The success was a couple with popularity; however, in 2019, Ferrari discontinued the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB. It was succeeded by the Ferrari F8 Tributo.

 

The 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB Has A Stellar Engine:
When asked what you love about a car like the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB and the powertrain is not the first thing that comes to mind, it is surprising. Being the first mid-engine Ferrari to pack a V8 engine since the F40 has already laid the foundation for this powertrain.

Ferrari fitted the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB with a 3.9-liter F154 CB twin-turbocharged V8 engine to mark this moment in history. 488-cc was distributer per cylinder, hence the name. The engine was an original dry sump Ferrari engine, part of the F154 V8 lineup. This engine was paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB’s engine delivered a maximum power output of 652-hp at 8,000 rpm and pushed 561 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. This saw this engine clock 169.4 horsepower per liter, and it achieved a specific torque output that was rated at 144 lb-ft of torque per liter.

These numbers were nothing short of impressive and went into the record books as wins for the Italian car company. On a 0 to 62 MPH sprint, the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB clears a 3.0 seconds time. For a 1 to 124 MPH, this ride clears it in 8.3 seconds. And if you are looking to push it for a quarter of a mile sprint, the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB shoots out and clears it in 10.45 seconds. The top speed of this car is recorded at 224 mph.

Awesome Design And Aesthetics:
The 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB was designed in-house by Flavio Manzoni at the infamous Ferrari Styling Center. This car was built to keep up with modern vehicles and styles without losing the touch and Feel of Ferrari traditions.

The car’s body is featured some of the latest aerodynamic aids. These included the dual grill at the front. These were responsible for the direct air intake into the two engine radiators placed at the front. Ferrari placed a deflector at the center of the two front air inlets. This was responsible for channeling air to the car’s underfloor. Two more air ducts were added to the hood to air in more air intake.

Comfort is key when driving a car like the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB. You do not want a crampy leg at 200 MPH. To ensure that the driver and passengers are comfortable, Ferrari installed comfortable bucket seats to the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB.

Variants Of The 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB
The 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB is a gift that keeps on giving. In itself, this car is a work of beauty, but it does not just end there. From this car, Ferrari introduced the world to other amazing GTB variants. These included the 488 Spider, the 488 Pista that Jeremy Clarkson announced as Supercar of the year in 2019, and the 488 Pista Spider.

If that was not enough, Ferrari built a couple of special edition cars based on the 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB. These cars included the 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari, as well as a number of one-offs like the J50, THE sp38 Deborah, and the P80/C.
