U.S. Air Force Vet Surprised With Classic Car Parade For 100th Birthday Celebration

Jack Foster turn 100 years old on July 16th, 2022. He celebrated the milestone birthday with friends and family who gathered to with him many more years of healthy and happiness, and had a little surprise for him at his birthday celebration. With the help of the police and fire department, Jack got his very own classic car parade at his birthday event.

“I was totally surprised,” said Foster, which grew up in Flint, MI and graduated from Northern High School in 1941. After he gradated, he went to work for GM where he would work until he retired more than 32 years later.

“I loved my work,” Foster said. “It was a challenge every day. I was a good GM employee and they’ve been very good to me.”

Jack served for this country for 2-1/2 years in the Pacific during World War II in the U.S. Navy Air Corp, and is an active member of UAW Local 651 and a member of Davison VFW Post 4087.

“Life has been good,” he said of the secret to his longevity. “I have a good family and a good support system. I’ve always had three meals a day and I drink Ovaltine.”

“I’ve always been in good health,” he said. “I’ve never been sick, except for having the flu. I never went to a doctor, or a dentist until my later years. I’ve always been very active. It’s been a good life.”

The classic car parade rolled past Foster’s Grand Blanc Township home. with the escort of the police and fire department.
