After 40 years, a 1967 Ford Mustang emerges, still original and rust-free.
The Mustang was bought 20 years ago by someone who intended to update the car, and it was eventually put on blocks with just minor repairs, such as new brakes and fluids.
The car, however, was abandoned in a garage, and the present owner is hoping that someone else will finish the job.
Under the hood of this Mustang, there’s some good news.
The car has a 289 (4.7-liter) engine that works fine, but the owner says a complete inspection is still required before taking it on a longer trip.
The standard engine for the 1968 Mustang was a 200 (3.3-liter), with V8 choices including the aforementioned 289 available in both 2-barrel and 4-barrel variants.
Due to the fact that this Mustang is a C-code, it was equipped with the 2-barrel version of the engine, which produces 195 horsepower.
The 4-barrel engine, which produced 225 horsepower in A-code Mustangs, was obviously more powerful.
The HiPo version of the same engine produced 271 horsepower, while the 390 (6.4-liter) engine produced 320 horsepower for this model year.
