Hellcat-Powered 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Is A Bronze Beauty

A tastefully done pro-touring restomod.

This 1971 Barracuda Started Out As A Clean Build

This car is owned by Kent, and as mentioned is a 1971 Barracuda. It was built by Andy Leach / Cal Automotive Creations in Nebraska, and it started out as a clean build. Ken bought it from a customer of Andy’s who started the project but couldn’t afford to finish it, and Kent thus completed the job.

It’s a unibody car, with front and rear clips that sits on coilovers with plenty of clearance to be used on most day-to-day roads. Under the hood is where the magic Hellcat engine, bone stock with not a thing done to it, just a good ol’ supercharged Hemi. And it produces 707 hp, and that’s fantastic for a stock engine.

Regal Wheels Are Unique To This Barracuda

The wheels deserve a mention; Shawn found them particularly interesting. They are one-off Regal wheels, with EVOD Engineering of California doing the cut for them. And they are only in Kent’s car! In terms of the other aesthetics of the car, Ken went for a Bronze color with a flat style finish in what is the billboard area, and then a gloss finish over the rest of the car. The doors have been modified slightly. They are close to stock but the keyhole has been removed, and instead, it’s a button release.

This Is One Of The Most Driveable Cars Shawn Has Looked At

But what is it like to drive? Well, it certainly looks and sounds badass on the roads. Shawn loves the sound, as it’s not obnoxiously loud and sounds exactly like a Hellcat. He comments on the ride as well, mentioning it is pretty smooth and so well done. It makes it a highly driveable car, which is exactly what Kent wants. Shawn says this is a serious car, and we would have to agree! The Barracuda is one of the most loved muscle cars of what many consider its golden era.
